Tomaž Furlan is an independent artist working in the field of contemporary art. Following the completion of his studies in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, he continued his practice in intermedia art and sculpture. He has participated in numerous significant group and solo exhibitions both in Slovenia and internationally, and is the author of several public artworks.

His work, which moves between conceptualism and materiality, predominantly functions as a socially critical and satirical commentary on the present while simultaneously offering a speculative gaze toward the future. Employing humor and (self-)irony, Furlan examines the position of the individual within neoliberal society, as well as the entrapment of the worker in the repetitiveness of daily life and the absurdity of labor processes. A distinctive feature of his artistic approach lies in the interactive nature of his works, which serve to transform the viewer from a passive observer into an active participant.
